MuSkin – a material provided by nature, made for luxury
A product of discerning taste, quality, and intricate natural processesWHAT IS MUSKIN?
Not a replacement for traditional leather,
but a luxury material in its own right.
An organic biomaterial, free from petrochemicals and plastics, MuSkin is a natural, artisan-crafted material created for luxury application.
Harvested by hand, directly from nature, MuSkin is designed for high-end finish rather than high-yield production.
HOW MUSKIN IS MADE?
Crafted by hand, rather than produced at scale, MuSkin is the end result of years of research and development working in collaboration with nature and the skills of heritage artisans.
Harvested by the most discerning hands, selected fungi are cut from trees in a delicate process that benefits the plant and its local ecosystem. The hard, woody outer layer is removed, leaving the soft, moist inner core. The core is then manually stretched and shaped before a careful process of air drying.
The experience and sensitivity of MuSkin artisans are crucial to the final product, ranging from a few inches to half a metre or more, depending on the size of the harvest. There is no MuSkin without nature and no MuSkin without the generations of local craftspeople who turn their skills to working with us in collaboration with the earth.
